HTC, BlackBerry, LG and Samsung Take Jabs at iPhone 6 ‘Bendgate’
Looks like all the key players in smartphone market are already mocking the iPhone 6 / 6 Plus ‘bendgate’ controversy, in the form of tweets and comments. As pointed out by MacRumors, LG and HTC were among the first to attack Apple on their respective Twitter accounts. BlackBerry CEO mentioned the bending issue during the company’s launch of its new Passport handset, while Samsung took a jab on Twitter as well.

“I challenge you to bend the Passport,” said John Chen, the CEO of BlackBerry at yesterday’s Passport unveiling event (via CNET). Meanwhile, here are the tweets from HTC, LG and Samsung mocking the iPhone 6’s pocket bending capacity:
Designed to withstand the most demanding environments. Like your pockets. #HTCOneM8

Our phone doesn’t bend, it flexes…on purpose. #bendgate pic.twitter.com/d1DudxDQgf

Curved. Not bent. #GALAXYNoteEdge pic.twitter.com/OTPIYlI07f

While the prevalence of the bending issue is very limited, The Next Web is reporting that Apple is looking into the issue “with an insane amount of detail”. Furthermore, it is reported via an Apple support representative that Genius technicians may replace bent iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus devices under warranty following a visual inspection.

I guess there is an advantage to plastic!
Lol no, no there’s not. Though it depends which plastic you are referring to. I’ve had nothing but trouble with say a “Samsung plastic” but a Motorola or Nokia plastics are fine.
These guys have turned advertisement into dirty politics. Instead of convincing people by showing what their phones are capable of, they just throw unfounded filth on their opponents. It’s a sign of utter desperation.
Off course, it’s not going to work just like dirty politics doesn’t work. Too bad, they will feel even more butt hurt at the end of this quarter and the next 🙂
