T-Mobile CEO John Legere is one of the most outspoken leaders in the U.S. wireless industry, and his profanity-laced rants have become entertaining both in presentations and beyond.
Speaking at the 2014 GeekWire Summit, Legere shared his thoughts on the overblown iPhone 6 Plus ‘bend gate’ issue, offering his honest (and hilarious) thoughts on the matter (via CNET), at roughly the 20-minute mark of the video below:
“That is such horses***. I mean, come on, what the f*** did you need to see?”
“The video of the guy that’s doing this — and if you could have seen his face, he probably would have been purple.”
“The thing moves a little bit? Are you s***ting me? I mean, when was the last time you took any other…this is an amazing supercomputer in your hand. What the f*** are you putting it in your pants and sitting on it for?”
“Those nine people who sat on their phones…first of all, they need jeans that fit them a little better.”
“This thing doesn’t f***ing bend.”
Legere also stated when he first took the CEO position at T-Mobile a couple years ago, at the top of his list was to land the iPhone—which it was granted last spring, bringing AWS bands to the iPhone 5 (which brought iPhone 5 users to WIND Mobile and Mobilicity).
He also noted Apple’s high standards for quality have made T-Mobile a better company, as the former would not offer the iPhone unless the latter’s spectrum and carrier speeds were up to par, thus kickstarting massive capital investment to change the face of the company, known as their ongoing “uncarrier” revolution.

The phone does Bend, and I think the problem will become more and more frequent. Hell, today I noticed on my 6+ that even putting the headphone jack in was slightly marking the soft aluminum. It’s a weakly designed phone, and many have pointed out that the consumer report bend test did not put pressure anywhere but the center. The phones do not bend at the center if you see any photos, but bend just underneath the volume up and down buttons. That is where the weak point is, and that is what needs fixing.
Another thing to take note of is that the Consumer Report test shows just how we weak the new iPhone is in comparison to last year’s. Even though they’re putting pressure on the center, the strongest and most braced area of the phone, last year’s model could withstand close to 40 pounds of more pressure. I am willing to put money down that if pressure was put near the volume buttons of both this years iPhone and last years, the difference would be even larger than 40 pounds. Let’s face it, the new iPhone is very poorly designed.
Aluminum is a weak metal and very bendable. Jony Ive, and his up session with a razor thinness, has created a lemon so to speak.
You do realize that the load would be greatest in the center, which is the maximum distance from both supports/edges.
It may be the greatest in the center, but that’s not where the weak point is. With less force, directed right at the weak point (near the volume buttons), it will bend A LOT easier.

I don’t believe it will bend under normal circumstances but I’m not about to try it out on my phone either.
You know that a Ford F150 pickup truck is made out of Aluminium right? The point isn’t whether something bends or at what level it bends at. The point is, does it bend for the Use Case that it was made for. Based on math and Consumer Reports’ tests, withstanding 70lbs of pressure on an iPhone6 is all that is required to match it up for it’s Use Case. The proof is that only 9 out of 10 million phones bent.
Idiot. iPhone 5s could withstand up to 160 pounds of pressure before it even SHOWED a mm of bending.
Ahem, have you noticed that high-end trucks are made out of aluminum? Second, Is your head in your ass? Thirdly, this year’s iPhone can withstand to twice as 40 (around 80) pounds before even more or less hinting that it starts to bend. Fourthly, it’s evident you’re and android user and you’re jealous of how IOS is better.
