Uber Now Offers Hotel Bookings in Canada

Uber users in Canada can now book a hotel directly through the mobile app. This feature comes after the company began offering hotel booking access within the US through its partnership with Expedia.
Canada is now the second market where Uber supports hotel bookings. Canadians can now search for nearby hotels, see current rates and book a room all through the app. Moreover, Canadians can also book rides to get to their destination.
Uber states that its expansion will one day grow to support 700,000 properties and destinations around the globe. The idea is to give users a one-stop shop where hotel booking and rides can all be secured without having to leave the app.
Launching with the Canadian expansion, Uber One subscribers get 10 percent back in Uber credits when placing a hotel booking. There is also a curated selection of 10,000 hotels, offering added savings to users.
Hotel booking can now be found within the ‘Services’ tab within the app. By selecting ‘Hotels’, users can search destinations in supported markets. Users can select the dates they wish to travel and stay at a hotel, select how many adults and children will be staying, and Uber will provide relevant listings.
Within each listing, you can find more information about amenities, the rooms themselves, reviews, and accessibility. You can then, of course, book the room and secure the reservation within the app.
Uber is also adding new features like Travel Mode, which acts as a concierge to recommend local restaurants (with bookings via OpenTable). There’s also an in-app “room service” delivery when you arrive in a new city that you can leverage.
