Alongside the iPad Air 2, Apple unveiled today the iPad mini 3 with Touch ID. Interestingly Phil Schiller didn’t spend too much time detailing what next generation iPad mini brings, but announced the update in just a minute.

The new iPad mini 3 comes with Touch ID and it is available in three colours: silver, space grey, gold. This year, however, besides making design changes, Apple has also eliminated the 32GB version, and decided to go with three storage options: 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.

The iPad mini 3 will come with Apple’s A7 chip — the processor wasn’t mentioned specifically like with the iPad Air 2.

The iPad Mini 3 features a Retina display, 5MP iSight camera, FaceTime HD camera and ultrafast wireless. iPad mini is also available at its most affordable price, starting at $279.

Availability in Croatia, Greece, Puerto Rico, Russia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and elsewhere around the world, will continue through the end of October with additional global availability in the coming months.
