TD Canada iPhone App Update: Open and Manage U.S. TD Bank Account
TD Canada has updated their iPhone banking app with some features geared towards Canadians that frequently travel to the U.S. There are now cross border banking links and travel tips, info about travel insurance, plus the ability to view U.S. exchange rates. The biggest feature is the ability to open and manage a U.S. based TD Bank account, right from the app.
What’s New in Version 6.2
How we’ve made it better
• Minor fixes.
• Cross Border Banking: added convenient cross border banking links and travel tips.
• Open and manage a U.S. based account at TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank
• View U.S. exchange rates
• Find Border Wait Times
• Obtain information about Travel Insurance

Back in September, the app received an update to support photo cheque deposits. New TD customers are required to wait 90 days before they can use the feature.
TD Bank in the U.S. launched support for Apple Pay last month. There’s no word on when Canada will get the mobile payment feature, but many suspect it’ll happen in 2015.
The app does not support the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus yet. What we’d like to see is the incorporation of Touch ID for logging into accounts.

Yes, as along as you get a TD USA credit card that supports Apple Pay.
Or wait for TD to launch it for Canadian accounts – shouldn’t be too much longer supposedly.
Yep. Can’t come soon enough!
what about visa debit
I confirm that Apple Pay is compatible with the TD Bank USA Visa Debit.
I confirm that Apple Pay is compatible with the TD Bank USA Visa Debit as well as the TD Bank USA Credit Cards.
Thanks
Touch ID please – is this a hard thing to implement? More apps, if not all should have this – if love to be able to lock certain apps from opening, or never having to use a password again.
I have opened one of these TD US accounts and I received a US debit card. I have tied that into Apple Pay and use it all the time here in Canada. It confuses cashiers as they have never seen it before.
When I was testing Apple Pay, all I would say is I’m paying by credit card. The moment I mention Apple Pay, you get weird looks and blank stares.
