New 12-inch MacBook Will Reportedly be Available at Apple Retail Stores at End of May
According to a new report from 9to5Mac, Apple’s retail stores will begin stocking the 12-inch MacBook at the end of May (week of May 25).
The report, which refers to a memo from Apple to its retail staff, also says that a limited quantities of the new MacBook should now be available in select Apple Stores in various countries, including Canada and the United States.
The sale of the new 12-inch MacBook has been limited to Apple’s Online Store since its launch. Several reports have noted that the company is restricting the sales of the device to their online store because of supply constraints.
The 12-inch MacBook starts at $1,549 (CAD) for the base model, which includes a 1.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.4 GHz, 8GB of memory, 256GB of flash storage and Intel HD Graphics 5300. The device also comes with a 12-inch Retina display with edge-to-edge cover glass and 2,304 x 1,440 resolution. It also sports a new “force touch” trackpad featuring four force sensors and a built-in Taptic engine.
