RBC Finally Brings Mobile Cheque Deposits to the iPhone [u]
The wait is over—RBC Mobile has been updated to bring mobile cheque deposits to the iPhone, as the latest update, version 3.7 has introduced the feature for customers:
What’s New in Version 3.7
We are pleased to announce the following enhancements:Deposit cheques conveniently through your mobile device
Update: Here are screenshots of the update showing mobile cheque deposits (thanks David):

Earlier this month, RBC released mobile cheque deposits for their Android app, so many suspected it would soon reach iPhone users as well.
Unfortunately this update does not bring Retina support for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus users yet, nor Touch ID integration like BMO’s recent update. Last fall, an internal memo claimed RBC mobile deposit would arrive sometime after November.

Thanks David!

Nice feature, but the RBC app is still a dated mess. Weird and sluggish transitions makes this lag far behind CIBC and other mobile banking apps.
Yeah, just looking at the screenshots the app is pretty dated.
I wonder if they’ll do an overhaul on the app when Apple Pay is announced.
I just deposited a cheque for a seven dollars that I was too lazy to cash. Thanks! And yes, the rest of the app still looks terrible, but this is a start.
Urgh, I hate the RBC App! I only use it when forced, which seems to be interac transfers & now deposits. I can still get away with the site on Safari for the rest of my online banking.
Wow..just rolled out mobile deposit now. At this rate, can we expect RBC be the last one to support Apple Pay?!?
They have a crappy app dev department. And I’m pretty sure it takes forever for old farts in the “upper brass” to approve new features.
That would be the case with all banks/financial institutions. Doesn’t explain why RBC is so far behind in the game. (Not that I’m not happy this came. I love this feature).
Not all. CIBC is much better.
I know. That’s what I was saying. “All” was in reference to the comment regarding “takes forever for old farts in upper brass to approve new features”
Why you say CIBC is much better?
How long cheque take cash after mobile deposit CIBC cheque?
I perfect bring RBC cheque to RBC branch or RBC ABM for in exchange for cash quick.
You would hope that they could improve their authentication security sooner than later. I was horrified to discover last week that not only the mobile app, but also their online banking website ignores the upper/lower case letters in your password. To their credit, their recommendation is a combination of numbers and letters (skirting around the upper and lower case issue).
Huzzah! Payday is Friday & I’m sitting on a fairly sweet cheque I didn’t get to the bank on the weekend. I’m disabled & don’t have a car right now, so getting a checque deposited is all kinds of a pain! The bank is in literally the opposite direction of everywhere I’m going!
Most o’ the time I’m totally fine & get by with 100% online banking & electronic purchases, with a couple quick stops here & there for this funky retro hipster thing the kids call “cash”? But when I get cheques for stuff, it’s a giant production — or at least it was until today.
Dumb Question for maybe the CIBC depositers who’ve been at this awhile?? What does one *DO* with a paper cheque after it’s been remotely, electronically deposited? Round file….errrr, kept & reconciled with your monthly bank statement? Does the website tell ya all does that?
