Apple to Equip Both ‘iPhone 6s’ Models with Force Touch [Rumour]

There has been a lot of buzz around Force Touch lately, and sources agree that Apple will add this feature to the forthcoming iPhone 6s. Did you know that this was supposed to be an exclusive feature of the bigger, 5.5-inch iPhone, just as with the sapphire crystal display? Well, it seems as though Apple originally wanted to make this device more appealing but ultimately dropped such plans, at least according to supply chain sources speaking with United Daily News (via GforGames).

Force Touch was introduced with the Apple Watch – it is a neat feature – but then quickly extended to its portable line of Mac computers. Recently, rumours began to surface about it being introduced to the iPhone 6s. As it turns out, this was originally planned just for the iPhone 6s Plus.

For unspecified reasons (some say it would be two or three times more expensive than the Watch’s force touch sensor) Apple dropped “exclusivity” plans and decided to include the sensor in both models. Sources say TPK will be the sole supplier, but a company spokesman refused to comment on the matter. Industry watchers, however, predict significant revenue growth for the second half of 2015.

Meanwhile, Apple is preparing for the upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference, which will kick off with an Apple keynote speech on June 8 at 10 a.m. PDT.
