‘iPhone 6s’ Design Said to Be Thicker Due to Force Touch Feature [Rumour]

Based on his supply chain sources, earlier this year analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple would launch a rose-gold-coloured iPhone 6s model, becoming the fourth colour option alongside silver, gold, and space grey. Multiple sources speaking with MacOtakara, have apparently confirmed such plans for this year.

Alongside the new colour option, which aligns the colour options of the iPhone to that of the Apple Watch, the next-generation gold iPhone is said to be similar (in colour) to the gold we see on the Apple Watch.

But there’s more: Apple will likely upgrade the rear camera to 12 MP and, as previous reports have suggested ever since it was introduced with the Apple Watch, Force Touch will make it to the iPhone 6s.

MacOtakara’s sources also confirmed earlier reports of a choice of another type of material, the 7000-series aluminum, with the next-generation iPhone. An interesting piece of information, though, is that there will be a slight change in dimensions: The 6s will be 0.15 mm taller and 0.2 mm thicker. MacOtakara speculates that the Force Touch sensors may have added thickness to the device.

Like with every rumour, this has to be taken with a grain of salt, but it is worth noting that MacOtakara has a decent track record of correct reports about unreleased Apple devices.

Your phone will stick out even more depending on the size of your pant’s back pocket.

Fingers crossed! My camera bezel has scratches from being placed flat on tables.

I have to say – the overall design if the iPhone 6/6+ is just not for me. I had the 6 for a few months, and it felt too flimsy, too slippery and not the least bit solid. Seems rushed to me. I actually went back to my 5c and couldn’t be happier. Maybe I’m just weird.
