Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs to Be Centerpiece of 53rd New York Film Festival

New York Film Festival Director and Selection Committee Chair Kent Jones described the movie as “extremely concentrated”, “sharp”, and wildly entertaining”.

“You hear that a bio of Steve Jobs is being produced, and of course you see multiple possible movies in your head . . . but not this one. Steve Jobs is dramatically concentrated, yet beautifully expansive; it’s extremely sharp; it’s wildly entertaining, and the actors just soar—you can feel their joy as they bite into their material.”

Director David Boyle was thrilled to hear that his movie would take this prestigious spot in the 17-day New York Film festival, which highlights the best in world cinema and features top films from celebrated filmmakers to fresh new talent.

You may recall that this movie has made plenty of headlines since we first heard that Aaron Sorkin had taken the Steve Jobs biography written by Walter Isaacson into his hands to write a screenplay of it. The official trailer was finally aired just a few weeks ago.

The Steve Jobs movie stars Michael Fassbender in the title role, Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman, Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, Jeff Daniels as John Sculley, Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, and Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan.
