Back to school is just around the corner and if you’re a student looking to jump on a new cellphone plan, Virgin Mobile and Fido have offered a new promo. For select BYOD (bring your own device) plans, you’ll get 1GB data extra per month, for 12 months. This is valid for $55, $65 and $75 plans.
For Virgin Mobile customers, the offer is for new activations only in-store and a valid student ID is required.
For Fido customers, the promo is valid for new activations and renewals, in-store.
Looking at the Virgin BYOD plans below, that means you’ll get an additional 1GB on top, so your starting $55 plan will have 2GB, the $65 plan will have 3GB and the $75 plan will have 4GB.
Details of this promo are not listed online, but Virgin Mobile and Fido stores confirmed they started today. Let us know if you’re going to jump on this.

But I pay 45,00 a month for 1GB.
I’m on the same plan. Tried calling in to get this bonus and was told I had to be paying full price ($55). Will try stopping by a store kiosk to try and get it.
