iPad Air 3 Rumoured to Launch in October

Apple may have “forgotten” to release the iPad Air 3, but it’s coming soon, according to sources. But it may even be postponed to 2016 if we are to believe Fubon Bank analyst Liaoxian Yi, who says that Apple may have postponed the iPad Air 3 launch until next year.

The Latino Post (via Cult of Mac) points to Yidaba and IT Pro, claiming that the suppliers were asked to focus on the iPad Pro and iPad mini 4 to avoid sales cannibalization of the recently announced 12.9-inch tablet. From this perspective, a postponed refresh of the iPad Air could make sense, but let’s add that not everyone interested in an iPad would jump on a tablet with that giant touchscreen.

Yidaba claims that the iPad Air 3 will be released in October, and even reveals some of the alleged tech specs of the 9.7-inch tablet: screen with 4K resolution, 401 ppi, and 4:3 aspect ratio; A9X processor; 8 MP iSight and 2.1 MP FaceTime cameras. Well, if you record 4K videos with your iPhone 6s, you’ll need a 4K screen to enjoy them in full, but we suggest taking these rumours with a grain of salt.
