Twitter Unveils Completely Revamped Desktop App for Mac OS X
Twitter has today unveiled a completely revamped Twitter for Mac desktop app at its “Twitter Flight” developer conference, TechCrunch reports. While the app won’t be launching publicly for the next few months or so, Twitter says that it is integrating new features like in-line Vine and video playback, group Direct Messages, photos in Direct Messages and in-line replies, into the Mac client.

The updated Twitter for Mac app will also come in dark mode, which Vine cofounder Rus Yusopov showed off in a tweet (shown above). The app will also show highlights in the notifications center to keep you up to date on your interactions.
While TweetBot is a fine third-party alternative to the Twitter desktop client for Mac, the official app however always gets new features integrated well before any of its competitors.
