If you want to spice up your images, then you’ll want Apple’s free App of the Week, Over. This freebie allows users to add creative text to their pictures, like these examples shown below from the developer’s Instagram page:

Over features 300+ fonts, 800+ illustrations and has a bevy of in-app purchases as well. The app is handy if you need to spice up an invitation, birthday card, business card, logo and more. The possibilities are endless.
