Apple Stores in Canada Can Now Install Your Belkin Screen Protector

Word first got out last week Apple had approved its employees to install screen protectors for customers, and then we saw the practice come to light first in Japan, with a new application method from Belkin.

Now, it appears Apple Stores worldwide (via MacRumors) have started to apply the new installing method using Belkin’s ScreenCare+ application system, including locations in Canada we spoke with on the phone.

Retail employees explained they’ve had the Belkin installation device for the past few days and were taught how to apply screen protectors on their own iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus models. One employee said the installation process was very easy and pretty much flawless.

Employees will be able to install the Belkin TrueClear Invisiglass Screen Protector ($39.99 CAD) or a Belkin TrueClear Anti-Glare Screen Protector ($19.95 CAD) free with purchase, which are only available for iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus devices.

Below is a video from Belkin discussing their new application system:

If you’re not ready to shell out $40 for a glass screen protector, Amazon.ca has Tech Armor glass screen protectors for iPhone 6/6s ($7.95) and iPhone 6/6s Plus ($8.95) for cheaper, but you’ll have to install them yourself.

I’m a big fan of the Tech Armor glass protectors. Great warranty as well.

Ironic that a third party vendor can add a screen protection to your $1000 phone but the company can’t do it at the manufacturing level. Basically Apple is saying you need another protection because our manufacturing process is crap.
