Neighbour Hears Late-Night Motor Noise from Suspected Apple Car Project Site
Late-night machinery noise coming from Apple’s secret testing facility located in Sunnyvale, California, confirms once again that the company has built an “auto work area” and a “repair garage, as AppleInsider first discovered last spring.
Apple leases seven buildings of a large office complex in Sunnyvale, but one resident that lives near the automotive campus issued a complaint to city officials last year revealing late-night machinery noise.
“(Do) there have to (be) motor noises at 11:00 p.m. at night like last night?” the resident wrote to the city of Sunnyvale. “Even with the windows closed I could still hear it.”
Of the seven buildings Apple occupies (roughly 300,000 square-feet), one with the street number 175 was registered as home to a company called SixtyEight Research, which is believed to be Apple’s shell company.
Apple’s automotive efforts dubbed as Project Titan are said to be ongoing in the city, just minutes away from the headquarters.
What Apple plans to build or test here is still surrounded in mystery. Just recently Apple received permits to build a 10-foot-tall security fence around the building it occupies to ensure “physical security” and “visual privacy.”
