Apple Says iPad Pro Pencil Will Get Navigation Back in Next iOS 9.3 Beta

After angry reports noted Apple Pencil lost its ability to navigate throughout iOS 9.3 betas, the iPhone maker has clarified the situation to The Verge:

“We believe a finger will always be the primary way users navigate on an iPad, but we understand that some customers like to use Apple Pencil for this as well and we’ve been working on ways to better implement this while maintaining compatibility during this latest beta cycle,”

“We will add this functionality back in the next beta of iOS 9.3.”

The lost navigational feature for Apple Pencil was absent in four straight iOS 9.3 betas, but Apple says it’s working to improve features, and just temporarily removed the capability in the beta for the time being. Looks like we’ll see a fifth beta coming soon, probably next Monday.

So no need to worry anymore, folks. Apple appears to have listened to its customers—that was one quick announcement.
