Coast Capital on Apple Pay: “No News to Share”; Mobile Cheque Deposits Coming

When RBC and CIBC first launched support for Apple Pay over a month ago, Coast Capital Credit Union told customers there was no news to share on the mobile wallet, and recent query we made to the financial institution’s corporate communications advisor resulted in the same answer.

The Surrey-based credit union said “We have no news to share on Apple Pay at the moment,” neither denying nor confirming support for the mobile wallet.

Back in May, the Canadian Credit Union Association told customers it was set to launch Mobile Pay “shortly”, their own competitor to Apple Pay, to all members by the end of 2016. Apple Pay could also be supported alongside their mobile wallet though, as we have seen with the Big 5 banks and their own mobile payment solutions.

There is some positive news coming from Coast Capital Savings, as one week ago it told a customer on Twitter mobile cheque deposits are coming this week:
