Apple Pay Launches in Hong Kong for Visa, MasterCard, AMEX

Following its expansion to France earlier today, Apple Pay has now made its way to Hong Kong, supporting Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

The following banks support Apple Pay in Hong Kong right now:

  • American Express
  • Bank of China (Hong Kong)
  • DBS
  • Hang Seng Bank
  • HSBC
  • Standard Chartered
Financial institutions coming soon, according to Apple, include Bank of East Asia (BEA) and HKT Payment Limited’s mobile wallet platform, Tap&Go.
Hopefully Octopus Cards will soon support Apple Pay, in the future. I’m also surprised Citibank isn’t mentioned anywhere, yet.

Apple Pay is now supported in nine markets: Australia, Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.
