Three Alleged iPhone 7 Models Leaked in 4K Video

main-shot

A 4K video was leaked this morning that compares three alleged models of the iPhone 7. The video revives the rumour that Apple will release two different 5.5-inch iPhone models.

Dutch blog TechTastic.nl leaked the 4K video on YouTubed today (via MacRumors) by the account ‘Bshop Kuwa’. The photo above shows the gold version of the iPhone 7 beside two 5.5-inch handset. One of the larger handsets has a single-lens camera and the other is fitted with a dual-lens camera.

Early rumours were pointing towards two versions of the 5.5-inch iPhone with the distinction ‘Plus’ and ‘Pro’. If the photos that leaked today are credible, then it is likely that we will see two 5.5-inch versions of the device, possibly with the distinguishing feature being a dual-lens camera.

The ‘Pro’ version was rumoured to have a Smart Connector, similar to the one found on the iPad Pro. However, the video leaked today shows no indication of this connector on any of the models.

The video also seems to prove the rumour that claimed there would be no 3.5mm headphone jack on the new device. In place of the headphone jack, we can see two stereo speakers, which will hopefully provide better sound for the iPhone.

Apple is expected to announce and launch the iPhone 7 next month, with pre-orders reportedly starting on Friday, September 9 and retail availability beginning on Friday, September 16.

Looking at this video in 4K, both the smaller iPhone 7 and the larger iPhone 7 Plus with the dual lens camera have the exact same model number (A1429) and the same FCC number. Not only should they be different, but the model numbers should start with “A17” since iPhone 6 models started with “A15” and the iPhone 6S models started with “A16”). Also the “flash” on the backside is just what looks like a piece of solid yellow plastic under the outside glass (no dual LEDs under the glass).

When the “iPhone 7” is shown beside the iPhone 6S in the video, the “iPhone” logo on the back of the iPhone 7 is in the wrong font, and the Apple logo looks like it is just silk-screened on instead of the reflective metal like on the iPhone 6S. Also, comparing the gold surface of the “iPhone 7” vs. the iPhone 6S, the surface of the iPhone 7 looks too rough (as if it just has been spray painted on).

Based on this, these appear to be fakes.

its weird how much effort people to through to make these things, and then post in 4k to show all the obvious flaws. to add to your list, the wonky silent switch and the extra large camera hole with a regular sized lens elements inside.

They’re just mock ups from China.

Exactly. They are not the “dummy” iPhones that Apple usually makes for distribution to cellular phone stores. They are mock ups (fakes) created by someone based on the various rumours and unverified photos we’ve seen.

The title literally says “mock-up hands on”.

It says “mock-up hands on” in the title of the video.

Yes, the Apple logo on the back looks different… Is it possible that it lights up? This may be the reason it’s not reflective.

I’m baffled why sites like iPhone in Canada promote such garbage. If they didn’t then there would be no incentive to show off such junk
