Desjardins for iOS Updated with Touch ID for Logins

Buried beneath iPhone 7 keynote announcements was a major update to Desjardins for iOS. The mobile services app for iOS users finally received support for Touch ID to login, instead of using your username and password.

Most banking apps now support Touch ID (well, except for TD Canada Trust, smh) as an alternate login method, which takes advantage of Apple’s fingerprint sensor for instant authentication (iPhone 5s or newer), versus remembering complex passwords.

Click here to download Desjardins for iOS in the App Store. Let us know how the Touch ID implementation works for you!

Really cool! It’s now much faster to log into my account!

Now they only need to start supporting ApplePay…

Try to add your visa desjardins… You go to the term and condition now but not activate… Apple pay coming soon 🙂

This guy has asked Desjardins about ApplyPay support very recently, and they still don’t have a schedule. Guess we’ll still have to wait.

I tried adding my VISA Desjardins this morning. It didn’t take me to Terms and Conditions. All I got was a pop up message saying “This Car is Not Eligible For Apple Pay”.

Same here. It’s a shame because I have two creadit cards. A Visa Desjardins card and a Costco CapitalOne Mastercard, and neither is currently supported.

Weird… I just tried with my Desjardins Visa Remises card and I’m still getting the usual message: “This Card Is Not Eligible for Apple Pay”.

I just tried today and I get the same message you do. It doesn’t even go to the 2nd screen for the expiry date/cvc anymore. I still think it’s a good sign because with NBC card, I get “Your issuer does not offer…”
