Apple LG UltraFine 5K Display Canadian Pricing: $1,699.95 [u]

During the new MacBook Pro launch event earlier today, Apple announced that it is partnering with LG Electronics to launch a new high-resolution UltraFine 5K Display, which has been designed specifically to work with the new USB-C port included on the newest MacBook Pro models. The 27-inch LG branded display packs a stunning 5120×2880 resolution and P3 wide colour, that will truly bring your favourite photos and videos to life.

Apple noted that a single Thunderbolt 3 cable (included with the display) provides up to 85W of charging power to your MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports. And three downstream USB-C ports (5 Gbps) offer additional connectivity and power to compatible devices and accessories. The display also has built-in stereo speakers, camera and a microphone.

Connect the UltraFine 5K Display to your MacBook Pro via an included Thunderbolt 3 cable, which supports 5K video, audio and data simultaneously — all while supplying up to 85W of charging power to your MacBook Pro. And with seamless macOS integration, you can control volume and brightness on your 5K display without the need for physical buttons.

Use the adjustable stand to create a personalised environment for work or play. Or disconnect the stand and mount the display on your preferred VESA arm using the provided VESA cover.

LG UltraFine 5K Display will be available to order in December at a price of $1,699.95 in Canada.

Update: There’s a 4K version of this display too, for $879.95 CAD, which looks the exact same and ships in 5-6 weeks.
