Apple to Fix iPhone 6 Plus ‘Touch Disease’ in Canada for $189

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users have long complained about an issue with Multi-Touch on their devices, nicknamed ‘touch disease’. The issue plagued so many Canadians a class-action lawsuit was launched here demanding Apple fix the issue.

Now, Apple has acknowledged the Multi-Touch problem by launching a new Repair Program, targeting iPhone 6 Plus. Apple says the problem starts with display flickering or Multi-Touch issues “after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface and then incurring further stress on the device.” (via MacRumors)

What’s the fix? Apple will charge you $189 CAD for them to fix the problem if your device is in working order (i.e. screen is not cracked or broken).

Apple says they will also reimburse customers who paid for a service repair related to this problem through Apple or an Apple authorized service provider. They also state if you have not been contacted by Apple for reimbursement, to notify them.

As for the reimbursement amount, Apple says it will be “equal the difference between the price you paid for the original service to your iPhone 6 Plus and the CA$189 service price.”

What do you think about Apple’s solution to this multi-touch problem affecting some iPhone 6 Plus users? Have you been affected by ‘touch disease’?
