Nine Inch Nails Frontman Trent Reznor Talks about Role At Apple and More

Apple Music Trent Reznor Atticus Ross Beats1 TWTR

Just before Zane Lowe played the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails’ new EP in full, frontman Trent Reznor, a key figure some of you may know, and newly appointed fellow band member Atticus Ross sat down with Low to talk about many things in Apple Music Beats 1 radio show (via VentureBeat).

If you are a fan of the band, you may want to listen to that wide-ranging interview, which also touches on Apple. Those who have been following Apple closely may already know that Reznor has been contributing to Apple Music since Apple’s acquisition of Beats Music in 2014.

During the interview Reznor talks about how music’s role is changing, how he resisted iPods and how he listens to vinyl records, despite Apple Music offering tens of millions of songs for a fee (or for free for the first three months). As for streaming music services, he has a strong remark: “Watching what’s happening over the last few years with streaming services and clearly understanding that’s what’s going to happen, and access – everyone will have access to everything – sadly watching the devaluation of music in the process.”

You can listen to the interview following this link or read his key remarks on VentureBeat here.

I came to the comments looking for your name. Haha.
The new ep is great. I’m actually more excited about the Fragile deviations though.

Yeah the fragile will be great. I’m out of town and away from my computer so no listening right now. Soon though … sooner than any Tool album!!
