Facebook ‘Jobs’ Launches in Canada: Find, Apply for Jobs on Business Pages

Facebook has launched a new feature today, which lets users find and apply for jobs right on the social network.

Businesses can now post jobs directly onto their Pages, where people can apply directly right on Facebook. The feature is rolling out in Canada and the USA to Page admins and users for iOS, Android and the web.

Facebook’s Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, VP of Business and Platform, said in a statement to iPhone in Canada, “Last fall, we introduced a number of features that help you discover things around you, decide what to do or where to go, and connect with local businesses. And today we’re taking the work out of hiring by enabling job applications directly on Facebook. It’s early days but we’re excited to see how people use this simple tool to get the job they want and for businesses to get the help they need.”

Users can visit Facebook.com/jobs to see jobs in their area and apply directly. If you’re a job seeker, time to clean up your profile, as businesses will be able to see information from your Facebook profile.

Looks like Facebook has taken a page out of LinkedIn, so start crafting your profile if you’re going to use the social network to apply for a job.

most of the times you don’t need a FB profile to apply for work. beside that however,
it takes 2yrs and up to 4yrs posting and posting updates on a profile page or blog posts site B4 applications can be sent via social networks and using on-line profiles in place of standard resume. In addition it is essential to cut words down to a twitter message length ( or 140 characters ) and when sending cover letters or short message to redirect to profiles and blog posts sites where to collect info and data to evaluate a candidate.
more to come… DRAFT
