Netflix has updated their iOS app to support high dynamic range (HDR) video, plus also iOS 11. To stream HDR video, you will require a Premium Netflix plan. HDR video allows for more vivid colours, brighter whites, darker blacks and more details.

The following Apple devices support HDR video:
- 2017 10.5-inch iPad Pro
- 2017 12.9-inch iPad Pro
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- Apple TV 4K
2017 iPad Pro models gained wide colour P3 displays and ProMotion, offering a 120MHz refresh rate. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus gain True Tone support for their LCD displays. The iPhone X OLED display supports True Tone as well, with its 458ppi and its 2436 x 1125 resolution. Apple TV 4K with HDR support was announced at Apple’s iPhone event, however
YouTube 4K will not be supported.
