iPhone 8 Fast Charging Works With Several Third-Party USB-C Power Adapters

According to a recent support document published by Apple, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus users do not need one of Apple’s USB-C power adapters to utilize the fast charging capabilities of the new device.
The company said that the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus can be fast charged with any USB-C power adapter that supports the USB Power Delivery specification. However, Apple says that an official USB-C to Lightning cable is still needed to make this work.
Unfortunately, this cable is not included with your iPhone. For a one meter cable, Apple charges $35 and $49 for a two meter cable in Canada.
Fast charging on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus enables you to regain 50 percent battery life within 30 minutes.

iPhone 6, 6s & 7 could charge faster if you used an iPad charger. Anyone know if this is still the case with the 8 & X?
Yes, charged my 8 Plus and was indeed faster with he iPad adapter.
Turn airplane mode on while charing will speed up the process. Very handy when you’re traveling
why is there no reference to the iphone X
So if I have a Aukey 20000 mAh powerbank with quick charger 3.0, does that mean i don’t need a adapter ? I will surely need a cable but will the powerbank charge it as fast charge ?
Is it USB-C PD? I am not sure the Quick Charger 3.0 is compatible with iPhones…
I’m more curious about the long-term effect of fast-charging on the phone’s battery. Is it completely innocuous and just the latest charging technology? Or does it eat away just a bit more at the battery’s life?
