2018 iPhone Lineup to Include 6.5-inch OLED, 6.1-inch LCD Models: KGI
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s has claimed in his latest note to investors that Apple will release three new iPhone models in 2018, including a 6.5-inch OLED iPhone and a 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, both of which will be the biggest handsets ever released by Apple, AppleInsider is reporting.
The analyst notes that the larger OLED model would presumably serve as a sort of “iPhone X Plus” featuring an edge-to-edge display and the general size of a Plus-sized iPhone.

Kuo added that in order to target the low-end and mid-range smartphone markets, Apple is also working on a new LCD model with a large 6.1-inch display, which will “differ significantly” from the OLED models. This LCD model will feature a lower-resolution display to achieve a price point between $650 and $750, although it is likely to feature Face ID and advanced cameras similar to the iPhone X or iPhone X Plus. He further said that Apple will greatly reduce the bezels on this LCD model.
These two handsets will be flanked by a next-generation iPhone X, he said, featuring the same 5.8-inch edge-to-edge OLED display as the recently released model. With three new handsets apparently in the works for late 2018, the analyst predicts that Apple will see a “super-cycle” of sales, aided by the fact that the company’s supply chain will be better suited to handle manufacturing of the new technologies introduced in the iPhone X.
For reference, the current iPhone X has a 5.8-inch OLED display, whereas the iPhone 8 Plus has a display size of 5.5 inches.

I returned my X because I found the display to small as compared to the Plus models. Looking forward to next year.
I’ve had the 8 Plus for only over a month and I felt the same when I saw the X. Going from a Plus to a X seems like you shrink the display IMO.
Isn’t the X display larger than the plus?
Only the diagonal is longer, however because the display is considerably narrower than the Plus the overall surface area is smaller.
I’m still on a 5s so anything is an upgrade for me! I’m number 1005 on Rogers iPhone X queue!!
You’re going to love it.
I would be all in for a 6.1inch model !
yup. even One Plus is jacking their rates because if Apple and Google can do it, so can they.
the X model is too small for my liking compared the 7+ or 8+. it’ll be interesting to see how they measure 6.5 inches.
anyhow. those who bought the current X model will be regretting it if the 6.5 becomes available. Apple should only offer two models not three..but Apple is merely just testing the market and consumer demand.
Why would I regret it? Of course there will be a plus model of the X. Doesn’t bother me at all.
This makes sense. How else is apple going to get the isheeps that bought the ‘X’ this year to upgrade next year.
How original.
But not wrong
You only need to convince yourself.
They don’t need to do anything … we are sheep, we do as our shepherd commands… all hail Tim Cook…. take my money……. it’s a drone life but at least it’s predictable…. oops … trolls live to get others upset to make up for something lacking in their own lives… but I’m not going to get upset because I don’t care and I’m proud to be an unapologetic Apple Fanboy, iSheep ESQ.
