What’s New in iOS 11.3 Beta [VIDEO]

Today Apple announced some new features to expect in iOS 11.3, then released the beta to developers to test shortly afterwards.

iOS 11.3 beta will include some new Animoji characters for iPhone X, while also support new ARKit updates, plus also detail Apple’s battery saving ‘feature’ for iPhone 6 or newer.

Anyways, there’s so many other features and changes in iOS 11.3, it’s tough to pinpoint which features to share in separate posts, but let’s take a look at over 35 new changes in the software, as detailed by EverythingApplePro on YouTube.

Here’s a list of some changes in iOS 11.3:

  • Privacy icon will now show when data is being shared
  • Takes 3GB of space to install iOS 11.3
  • Animojis: bear, skull, lion, dragon
  • iMessage Business Chat
  • Battery settings to disable/enable throttling
  • iBooks is now just ‘Books’; All Books is now ‘Library’; Select is now ‘Edit’
  • Haptic feedback ‘instant’ on iPhone X; cards now load faster
  • iMessages on iCloud
  • App Store: see more details on updates such as version number and MB size
  • Bluetooth indicator in Now Playing widget gone
  • New headphones icon in top right when connected to AirPods
  • Spotlight: animation slides down from top
  • Dictation: now much faster
  • Privacy icon now blue in Settings
  • System Services icon now has a gear
  • Voiceover: description is now larger
  • Smart invert no longer reverses URLs in Safari
  • Health App: splash app has Next button lower
  • Health records splash screen (beta)
  • Home app: Apple TV now shows up
  • Home app: HomeKit can now authenticate without chip hardware
  • News: changes to top stories and videos (not in Canada yet)
  • For You tab in Apple Music will now show more videos
  • AirPlay 2 is working with multi-room support for Apple TV running tvOS 11.3
  • 911: when you call, your location is shared with first responders
  • ARKit 1.5: now supports vertical surfaces such as walls
  • Feedback App is back
  • iPad: lag when entering Control Center reduced
  • iOS updates can be ‘hidden’ from supervised devices for up to 90 days
  • Safari can now save GIFs as MP4, which is a smaller file size
  • Password AutoFill for Apps now works in web views within apps
  • Web apps saved to Home screen and web pages can now access Camera to take images

According to performance differences via Geekbench, iOS 11.3 was very similar to iOS 11.2.2. For now iOS 11.3 has new features with more to come, such as Apple’s battery controls for iPhone 6 or newer.
