Earlier his month, it was reported that Instagram will soon release a tool that will let you download all of the content you ever shared on the social network and today, the social media service has made its “Data Download tool available to users via the web.
The tool lets you export all your photos, videos, archived Stories, profile, info, comments, and messages, though it can take a few hours to days for your download to be ready. According to TechCrunch, an Instagram spokesperson has confirmed that the Data Download tool is currently accessible to everyone on the web, whereas “access via iOS and Android is still rolling out”.
Instagram has launched the new Data Download tool in order to comply with the data portability rule in European Union’s GDPR privacy law that goes into effect on May 25th.
