Videotron has an offer right now for families, where if you subscribe to two Premium Mobile plans, you can “get two free Talk and Text plans for your teens.”
The company’s fine print says “This limited-time offer applies to Videotron Residential customers who subscribe to two Premium Mobile plans with a minimum monthly service rate of $64.95 each, and at least one Talk and Texts plan.”
A Videotron customer service representative clarified just two lines of at least $64.95 per month are required to meet this promo’s requirements.
Currently, Premium Mobile plans which meet the minimum required spend for two lines start at $67.95 per month with 6GB data, plus an additional 2GB bonus data (current promo). A basic talk and text plan starts at $29.95 per month.
So if a family consisted of two adults and two children, the kids could each get a free talk and text plan, saving the family $60 per month.
All plans must be under the same account and the promo offers a maximum of two free Talk and Text plans per account. Data is billed on a per-use basis, but there is a $8/1GB per month add-on option for BYOD.
If you need to get phones for the kids, the Alcatel A50 and LG K4 is available for $0 up front and $6 per month on contract.
Videotron says there is a one-time $20 activation fee and $5 SIM card charge per line. The free talk and text promo will remain as long as the family plan has two Premium mobile plans of $64.95 per month in their account.
