Apple Plans Low-Priced LCD iPhone Model in 2018 With iPhone X Form Factor

We have seen many rumours over the past several months that point to a new low-cost LCD iPhone model arriving in 2018.
According to a tweet from Mark Gurman, this low-cost LCD iPhone will actually have the same form factor of the iPhone X, with an edge-to-edge display and notch. The device is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display.
I’m told this “N84” device is actually the low-cost LCD iPhone that looks like an iPhone X. https://t.co/KU0xhfkkHe https://t.co/YqiGMLHacb

The LCD iPhone is expected to be introduced alongside a successor to the 5.8-inch iPhone X, as well as a new jumbo-sized 6.5-inch “iPhone X Plus” with edge-to-edge OLED display.
The new models will include 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch variants with OLED displays, and a 6.1-inch version that has an LCD display. While all of the current display manufacturing for the iPhone X is done by Samsung, several reports noted that the 6.1-inch LCD “thin-film” display will be manufactured by JDI.
Current projections for the price of the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone range between $700 and $800. Reasons for the price include the complexity of manufacturing Apple’s 3D Touch technology.
