Twitter Canada Reveals New Partnerships Bringing More Premium Video Content to Users

Video has been a key part of Twitter’s continued growth over the last few years. Today, Twitter Canada announced several new partnerships which bring even more premium video content to its users.

The partnerships were announced today in Toronto as a part of the company’s first ever #TwitterFronts event. In a statement, Twitter’s Global Head of Content Partnerships Kay Madati said:

“We’ve seen a strong appetite for Canadian content streaming on Twitter and are impressed by the depth and quality of content Canadian publishers put on the platform every day. With this new slate of publisher deals, everyday Canadians on Twitter will have a fresh array of new content options and for brand and agency partners, we’ll be offering new opportunities to tap into what’s happening on Twitter.”

Within Entertainment & Lifestyle, there are three new initiatives from partnerships with Bell Media and Corus Entertainment.

  • The 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs: Fans get to put themselves up close to all their favourite artists and celebrities at the 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs.
  • ET Canada: #TrendingTonightTwice a week the hosts of ET Canada will conduct a roundup of all the biggest news in entertainment.
  • Food Network Canada: #OneDirtyDish: Celebrity chefs from Food Network Canada create easy weeknight meals with ingredients selected by Twitter users.

The partnerships also include deals with various news publications like Bloomberg and BuzzFeed. Twitter is expanding its reach into sports with partnerships with Golf Canada, NHLPA, Homestand Sports and Tennis Canada.
