Bell Freebie: CraveTV Gets Bundled into TMN + HBO Packages November 1

If you’re still a cable television subscriber, a new freebie is coming from Bell Media, as the company will soon bundle their streaming service CraveTV with The Movie Network + HBO subscription packages, regardless of TV provider. Bell Media owns the Canadian distribution rights to TMN and HBO Canada.

TV providers such as Rogers and Cogeco started notifying customers yesterday about the change. Rogers said TV subscribers will see CraveTV as a free service starting on November 1, 2018, as stated on their Community Forums. They will require their Rogers login to access CraveTV through the latter’s iOS app.

Rogers has released a FAQ on the upcoming change, informing customers with TMN + HBO packages they don’t need to contact Rogers to get access to CraveTV. But customers with existing CraveTV subscriptions are being told to cancel their subscriptions before November 1, 2018.

Interestingly enough, this brings CraveTV to Rogers for the first time. Previously, Rogers (and partner Shaw) tried their hand at streaming with their own service shomi, but threw in the towel early after citing high costs, a move criticized by the CRTC.

Once the change is made on November 1, 2018, Bell Media should suddenly see a jump in subscriber count to CraveTV, as TMN + HBO subscribers get to jump on board for free.

Let us know if you were contacted by your TV provider about this upcoming change to CraveTV.
