Apple Says the iPhone XR is the ‘Most Popular’ Model Since Its Launch

Apple is doomed! Recent reports have suggested iPhone XR demand is lower than what Apple expected, in particular in countries such as Japan.

But Apple has countered these claims, in an interview with CNET. Greg Joswiak, Apple vice president of product marketing, told the publication in an interview the iPhone XR has “been our most popular iPhone each and every day since the day it became available.”

Apple Provides (PRODUCT)RED Update

Joswiak also provided an update on Apple’s (PRODUCT)RED line up, which helps contribute to the fight against HIV/AIDS, ahead of the 30th anniversary of the first World AIDS Day.

Since 2006, Apple says it has raised over 200 million from the sale of (PRODUCT)RED devices and accessories (this number was 160 million in 2017).

“Not only does each purchase bring us closer to an AIDS-free generation but every dollar provides five days of life-saving medicine,” said the Apple executive.

There will not be any RED promotions in the App Store for 2018, said Joswiak. But he did say this year was the first time an iPhone launched in (PRODUCT)RED, with the iPhone XR.

“It’s the first time offered an iPhone Red at launch,” Joswiak said. “This has been an incredibly important partnership for us. It’s hard to think of [a] higher calling than selling products that save people’s lives.”

Recently, Apple design chief Jony Ive and fellow designer Marc Newton created a diamond ring–out of solid diamond–for (PRODUCT)RED, expected to fetch $250,000 USD at auction.
