Apple Continues to Mention Unreleased AirPower in New Job Listings

As spotted by the folks over at MacRumors, Apple has once again mentioned AirPower, its unreleased wireless charger, in recent job listings in New Zealand and the US. The job descriptions for the openings posted during the past three months refer to the AirPower charging mat, which the company first previewed at its September 2017 event.

Apple’s job listings mentioning AirPower range from student co-op positions to hardware engineers on the company’s Wireless Power Technology team in Cupertino, California as well as Auckland, New Zealand, where wireless charging company PowerbyProxi, which was acquired by Apple last year, is also based.

Here’s the job description for one of the openings:

The mission of the Wireless Power Technology team – Build the world’s best Wireless Charging user-experience by inventing state-of-the-art technologies. The Wireless Power Technology team develops bleeding-edge Wireless Charging designs that are central to Apple’s products – the iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, AirPower and more.

Although Apple announced it will release the AirPower accessory in 2018, it is not yet known when it will eventually hit the stores, especially after the company removed most references to the AirPower from its website following its September 2018 event.
