Apple’s Rumoured ‘iPad mini 5’ Will Have Same Design as iPad mini 4: Report

Japanese site Mac Otakara reports Apple’s rumoured iPad mini 5 will most likely have the same design as its predecessor, if sources from accessory makers are to be believed.

The next iPad mini is also reported to retain features such as Touch ID, Lightning connector, headphone jack and either be powered by an A10 Fusion—found in the current iPad—or possibly the A10X Fusion found in 2018 iPad Pro models.

As for some design tweaks for the iPad mini 5, the mic position is said to move to the upper centre on the back.

It’s also unknown whether the next iPad mini will support Apple Pencil, like the current 6th-generation iPad, despite most likely having an upgraded processor capable of handling the stylus.

Recent rumours have claimed Apple’s iPad mini refresh is expected sometime in 2019. Last month, a reported ‘iPad mini 5’ shell surfaced online, showing minor changes from its predecessor, aside from redesigned antenna bands for the cellular model.
