Apple Slashes iPhone XR Prices in India

Back in January, Apple lowered the price of iPhone XR for its partner sellers in China by almost $100 and then earlier this week, it again announced a price cut on most of its products in China, including the iPhones, iPads, Macs, and AirPods. Today, Reuters is reporting that Apple has now slashed the prices of iPhone XR in India a well.

Apple has cut prices of one of its latest iPhones in India by around one-fourth, sources said, as the U.S. tech giant looks to boost sales in the world’s second-biggest smartphone market following a similar move in China.

“Apple is going to change their game,” one of the people said, adding the company could also adjust prices for other devices depending on their demand.

The source notes that the price of the 64 GB iPhone XR has been reduced by at least 17,900 rupees (approx. $259) at the stores in India due to a price cut and a credit card cashback campaign, even though the price of the said model remains unchanged on Apple India website.

Similarly, prices for the two other XR variants have also dropped. According to one industry source, however, the change in pricing of the iPhone XR in India is a short-term promotional offer.
