
Twitter Recaps 10 Years of Toronto Sports Teams on the Social Network
Twitter today has published a recap of the past 10 years of Toronto sports on the social network, as 2019 is the 10-year anniversary of the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs and Raptors joining Twitter.
The Toronto Blue Jays were the first team to join Twitter, back on May 20, 2009, with the Maple Leafs joining later that year in July and the Raptors in September.
Twitter says the Blue Jays were the second Canadian sports team to reach 1 million followers (Oct. 2015) and the second MLB team to reach the 2 million mark (June 2017). Former Blue Jay, Jose Bautista, and his iconic #BatFlip from October 14, 2015, was the team’s single-most mentioned moment.
