Telus prepaid brand Public Mobile offers a referral program where for every friend and family member that signs up under you, $1 off per month credit is provided, for the duration of your referral’s time with the company.
When referring friends and family, you had to pass them your number to punch into the online activation form. But now Public Mobile is set to change this system to use unique referral codes instead, starting July 24, 2019.
According to a recent text message sent to customers, Public Mobile says users should expect an SMS next week with their unique code. By introducing a unique code it provides privacy for those referring friends and family but don’t want to give out their number.
With enough referrals, one can reduce their cellphone bills with Public Mobile, to the point where it can even be free. The company also offers a $1/month off loyalty program for customers who have remained for one year, increasing to $5/month off in year five.
