Mozilla Releases Firefox Version 70.0 With New Logo, Privacy Reporting Tools

Last month, Mozilla released Firefox 69 for Mac with Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) while also blocking cryptomining by default as part of the Standard setting and now, the privacy-focused company is upping its game further by introducing new privacy reporting tools in Mozilla version 70.0, as well as a new logo.

In today’s release, the Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) is on by default as well. With the new Social tracking protection, ETP now blocks cross-site tracking cookies from sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Similarly, the new Privacy Protections report shows an overview, with details, of the trackers Firefox has blocked. The feature also provides consolidated reports from Lockwise, Mozilla’s identity and password management tool:

“The industry uses dark patterns to push people to “consent” to an unimaginable amount of data collection,” Selena Deckelmann, Senior Director of Firefox Engineering at Mozilla, said. “These interfaces are designed to push you to allow tracking your behavior as you browse the web.”
