iOS 13 Users Complain of Deleting Emails by Accident Instead of Replying
As highlighted in a report by NBC News, Apple’s decision to place the trash icon where the reply icon used to be is causing many users to end up deleting the email by accident instead of replying to it in iOS 13’s redesigned Mail app. Some users also complain that the icons are now too close together.
“It’s happened dozens of times,” said Shannon Watts, the founder of gun control organization Moms Demand Action. “If I’m lucky, I’ll remember who I was replying to and then search for their name in the trash,” she added.
A number of other prominent Twitter users have also shared their frustrations on social media, with some tweets asking Apple for a fix in future software updates. Apple has, however, not yet responded to any of the tweets.
@Apple please rethink the placement of the trash icon…. I’ve deleted so many emails in the last few weeks lol. #Apple #MoveTrashIcon pic.twitter.com/ffYpyaSxSb

Thanks @Apple for the new email app redesign— for putting the Trash can icon where the Reply icon used to be.
I’ve only archived roughly every email since. ?#musclememory

Thank you @Apple for putting the trash icon exactly where the reply button used to be in iOS 13 Mail. Wow that’s silly.
