November 11 is known as Singles Day, an unofficial shopping holiday in China which celebrates those who are single.

All companies jump on this shopping bonanza and Chinese online e-commerce giant Alibaba saw a record $38.3 billion USD in purchases made by customers in a single day.

In Canada, Telus-owned Koodo saw an opportunity to push an exclusive one-day promo plan in B.C. and Ontario, targeting the Chinese market, available on its dedicated Chinese website (via RFD).

What was available was a $50 plan with 7GB of data by entering the promo code koodo1111 during checkout, available only on November 11, 2019.

This plan was eligible for both Small and Medium Tab upgrades and also included 1,000 international long distance minutes to Australia, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Germany, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Mexico, and Taiwan.

Did you hear of this plan or jump on it yesterday? It’s too bad it wasn’t available for the rest of Canada. If you missed out, similar deals may be coming for Black Friday.
