Spotify ‘Wrapped’ 2019: Drake Tops List of Most-Streamed Artists of the Decade

Spotify has revealed its biggest songs, albums, and artists of the last year and decade, with Drake emerging as the most-streamed artist of the 2010s.

The Swedish streaming giant released its year-end data on Wednesday in its annual “Wrapped” campaign, which also included statistics from across the decade. The report illustrates how much streaming has grown in that time—and how dominant hip-hop has become in this new ecosystem.

Based on more than 248 million users’ listening habits across the globe, Drake took the prize as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the decade, topping 28 billion total streams over the past 10 years. He was followed on the list by Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Ariana Grande, and Eminem, respectively.

Sheeran topped the 2010s most-streamed song rankings with “Shape of You,” which racked up over 2.3 billion total streams since the start of the decade. That track was followed Drake’s “One Dance” featuring Kyla and WizKid, Malone’s “rockstar” featuring 21 Savage, The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” featuring Halsey, and Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

For 2019, Post Malone was the most streamed artist both globally and in the United States. Billie Eilish’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? was the most streamed album globally, while Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding was the most streamed album in the U.S. Camila Cabello & Shawn Mendes’ “Señorita” was the most streamed track globally, while Post Malone & Swae Lee’s “Sunflower” was the most streamed track in the U.S.
