Tesla Semi Prototype Spotted in Canada For Winter Testing

A prototype of Tesla’s upcoming Semi electric truck has been spotted in Canada, most likely undergoing winter testing, making it the first time the truck has been seen outside the U.S. According to Electrek, Tesla has made only two Semi prototypes since its unveiling 2 years ago and has been putting them through an extensive test program.

Now one of the two Tesla Semi prototypes was spotted crossing the border to Canada on a trailer earlier this week. The same prototype was later spotted in Ashcroft, British Columbia, which is about a four-hour drive northeast of Vancouver.

In the short term, the is gearing up for several weeks of winter testing to validate the truck’s performance in cold weather and low traction conditions. We are excited to share insights from the winter with you, as we will be able to highlight the major advantages of electric traction and motor control, which no diesel powertrain can match.

The source also notes that Tesla is now planning to bring its electric Semi truck to its cold-weather testing grounds in Alaska, USA.

Recently, a Tesla Model Y compact SUV was spotted in Toronto, Ontario.
