Koodo to Telus Migration Offer: $65/10GB Unlimited Data Plan

It looks like Telus is offering some Koodo customers a $65/10GB promotional plan in efforts to get them to switch over to Telus. The $65 plan is an “endless data plan”, meaning it’s a Peace of Mind plan offering no data overages and 512 Kbps throttled speeds, once your initial data is used up.

The switcher offer was sent to a Koodo customer in Alberta on a $40/8GB plan yesterday, via text message, which read (via RFD):

Koodo: Hi XXXXXXXX! Since Koodo and TELUS are part of the same team, we have an exclusive TELUS deal for you. Get an endless data plan with no data overages and 10GB for $65. Plus, tack on ANY new phone, even the latest and greatest, for $0 upfront plus tax.

To make the move, just visit your nearest TELUS store. Share the promo code XXXXXXXXX and your unique validation code: XXXXXXXXX. Hurry though – this offer won’t last long.

The plan may be enticing for those who go over their data and pay overages, as Peace of Mind plans don’t incur extra costs, although data is throttled once your 10GB is up. The $65 price is $10 cheaper than an entry Peace of Mind plan at $75 for $10GB. Telus employee pricing plans are able to get a $68 plan with 20GB of shareable data, to put things into comparison.

Why the offer to switch over to Telus? Those jumping on the offer will end up paying more per month, driving up monthly spend metrics, which are coveted by investors.

Did you get this switcher offer from Telus—and are you going to make the switch?
