Rogers vs Telus vs Bell vs Freedom: Best Cellphone Plans – October 2026

Rogers, Telus, Bell and Freedom Mobile cellphone plans

October is here, and with Thanksgiving weekend around the corner, the Big 3 carriers are holding their prices steady ahead of cellphone deals in November.

We checked the latest bring-your-own-device plans from Rogers, Telus, Bell and Freedom Mobile against our September roundup, and the short version is that nothing really changed. With Black Friday now about eight weeks out, this feels like the calm before deal season, which is exactly when you should not rush into a full-price commitment.

Plans below are BYOD and mobile-only, after autopay discounts where published, using BC/Ontario/national headline pricing.

Rogers

  • $65/60GB (5G+ Lite, Canada-wide)
  • $70/100GB Canada-US for 24 months
  • $85/unlimited data Canada-US-Mexico-Caribbean for 24 months
  • $100/unlimited Global (64 destinations; long distance to 27 countries; priority network access; 5-year price guarantee)

No movement at Rogers this month. The four 5G+ tiers are identical to September and perks like Rogers Satellite is still included across the BYOD lineup.

Telus

  • $65/60GB 5G+ Select (up to 2 Gbps)
  • $70/100GB with US roaming (5GB/day roaming cap)
  • $85/unlimited Canada-US-Mexico (5GB/day roaming cap)
  • $100/unlimited Global (68 destinations; 5GB/day roaming cap)

Telus holds the line too, as September’s changes carry over untouched: the faster 2 Gbps cap on the $65 plan, US roaming on the $70 tier, and no shareable data on BYOD plans.

Bell

  • $60/60GB (was $65) Essential
  • $70/100GB Canada-US (SD streaming; 5GB/day roaming)
  • $85/unlimited Canada-US-Mexico (HD streaming; 5GB/day roaming; 5-year price guarantee)
  • $100/unlimited Global (HD streaming; 5GB/day roaming; 5-year price guarantee; 83 destinations)

Bell is the lone wolf here dropping the 60GB plan by $5 to $60. Other autopay BYOD prices match September, while some customers are saying they are going to see an October price increase on select services, so check your billing statements.

Freedom Mobile (All plans include Canada/US/Mexico and global roaming)

  • $35/10GB + 1GB Roam Beyond
  • $40/70GB + 1GB Roam Beyond
  • $45/125GB + 5GB Roam Beyond
  • $50/175GB + 10GB Roam Beyond
  • $60/250GB + 10GB Roam Beyond
  • $70/250GB + 20GB Roam Beyond
  • $80/250GB + 30GB Roam Beyond
  • $90/250GB + 40GB Roam Beyond
  • $100/250GB + 50GB Roam Beyond

Freedom added new $80/$90/$100 Total Freedom tiers that arrived in mid-September, while the back-to-school labels on mid tiers have not rotated yet. Freedom’s Roam Beyond data comes with no per-day roaming cap unlike Telus and Bell.

With Thanksgiving weekend nearly here and Black Friday about eight weeks out, the real moves are likely still ahead. We will be watching for the first holiday promos. In the meantime, the flanker and prepaid sides of the market are covered in our September Fido, Virgin Plus and Koodo roundup and September prepaid roundup (October editions coming).
