This morning Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the federal government has signed a deal with Amazon to help distribute medical supplies across the country.
“For the past few weeks, our government has been working closely with industry to produce the supplies our healthcare workers need like masks, face shields, gowns, ventilators, and test kits,” said Trudeau at his daily press briefing.
“Today, I can announce that our government has signed an agreement with Amazon Canada to manage the distribution of this equipment to the provinces and territories,” added the Prime Minister.

Amazon’s logistical expertise will help distribute medical supplies, including masks, face shields, gowns, ventilators, and test kits.
The federal government announced earlier this week it will spend $2 billion on medical supplies to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, and so far has reached agreements with Thornhill Medical, Medicom Group and Spartan Bioscience to make medical supplies and equipment.
American President Donald Trump asked 3M to stop sending N95 masks to Canada, which Trudeau responded would be a “mistake”, as both countries trade freely.
