Apple’s iPad Pro displays come with ProMotion technology, offering a 120Hz display refresh rate, for super-smooth scrolling and motion content.

According to the latest exclusive iPhone 12 Pro leak from EverythingApplePro, the YouTube channel, along with info from Max Winebach, says the next iPhone 12 Pro will have this same ProMotion technology in its 6.7-inch OLED display.

Sources claim Apple engineers want to use a 120Hz display and not 90Hz, with a variable refresh rate that will switch from 60Hz to 120Hz automatically, in a move to preserve battery life. ProMotion uses more power, which means Apple may have to include a larger physical battery instead of relying just on optimizations.

The news appears to corroborate what was shared last July by another leaker @UniverseIce, who said, “Apple is considering a switchable 60Hz/120Hz refresh rate screen on the iPhone in 2020, and is discussing with Samsung and LG.”

Other tidbits from the video says Face ID will improve to work at wider angles and have better face tracking, while the iPhone 12 Pro notch will also shrink slightly. A new colour of Navy Blue will replace Midnight Green, which EverythingApplePro says leaker Jon Prosser exclusively ‘confirmed’ to the channel.

As for the iPhone 12 Pro camera, a 12MP sensor will remain but it will be larger, with improvements coming to autofocus and low-light photography such as Night Mode. As for the telephoto lens, it is apparently going to have 3x optical zoom and also support Night Mode images. The next flagship iPhone model will also include a LiDAR sensor like the recently refreshed iPad Pro.
