Apple’s rumoured augmented reality (AR) glasses could debut in 2021, if the latest report from Digitimes proves accurate.

According to the Asian publication, a paywalled report out today (via MacRumors) says Apple’s AR glasses are said to launch next year, according to unnamed sources:

Apple is expected to roll out its augmented reality glasses in 2021, according to sources at related suppliers, which are gearing up to kick off small-volume production for the device in the first half of the year.

The report appears to corroborate a recent 2021 timeline shared about Apple’s AR glasses, as per leaker Jon Prosser, which claims the product will be called Apple Glass and come with a $499 USD launch price. Prosser says he’s seen a video of Apple Glasses from his insider source and notes an early announcement by Apple in 2021 is expected, for a later launch in the year to allow for developers to get on board, as we’ve previously seen with Apple Watch app.

Last fall, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported Apple was possibly targeting a 2020 launch for its AR headset, which would sync with an iPhone, but that timeline may have changed due to COVID-19.
